Farewell Talk – (John Sherrer (President) and Cheryl Gajadhar (Secretary)) John’s vision for the last 2 years was to bring a program that would enhance the awareness of diabetes. This vision never happened but he leaves his vision to board and also will enforce this with his replacement. John has enjoyed the alumni association and has learned many things as being your President. Cheryl also agrees with all of John’s comments and his leadership. These people will surely be missed.
Internet Video of Reunion/Business Meeting – No one has a video camera at this present time. Will wait for the reunion and see If anyone has one. Open for possibility for next reunion.
Skype with webcam – To offer meetings live. Running the meeting would not cost anything. Equipment needed is a laptop, skype software and a webcam. The person on the receiving end would have to know what number to call and also have a computer as well with the internet. There was no response or comments with using this visual method.
Reunion Agenda – The reunion agenda will be at the reunion in the form of booklets. These booklets will be handed out when inprocessing on Thursday night. It is assumed that on Thursday evening – President’s night / hospitality meal/snacks. On Friday will be a day of free do what you want activities. On Saturday morning starting around 0900 am Breakfast with a morning business meeting. On Saturday afternoon, free to do as you want. On Saturday night around 1800 pm (unsure), the evening Banquet. Sunday is check out.
Helen’s Request – Voting for the place of the reunion for the following year. Voting to be in business meeting or at the annual reunion. Board preferred to keep the voting at the annual reunion with the majority of present members attending.
Annual Reunion 2009 (Fayetteville, NC) – The next year’s reunion is projected to take place in Fayetteville, NC. Charles Luther, volunteered to be the Chairperson and coordinate hotel arrangements a year in advance. Presently, the volunteered followers has dropped off and the support is very little. Will review for 2009’s place at this year’s 2008 Annual Reunion Business Meeting.
Next meeting will be 13 November 2008.
